This article is my views and opinion based on people’s
comments and experiences with many groups. I came up with the categories and
summed up description for each. There are many types of paranormal groups. Some
of the ones I've heard of range from just science based to only energy workers.
The groups break down consists of:
Hobbyist aka Creeper: People who see it as a hobby only and do not heed
to the dangers or even respect of an area. For example: They trespass and
investigate with basic knowledge and equipment in the field. They stir up
energy of that area and then sometimes get harmed or an entity will follow them
home.
Science: Where a team only uses technology and science to
document. They look for physical evidence for example: EVP and video. Usually
it stirs up energy, but most don’t know how to remove it and sometimes it gets
worse. Saying a prayer or doing any kind of cleansing takes full belief behind
ones actions and words.
Mediums or Psychics: A real sensitive can communicate
without technology involved. However, I have met a few who when faced with real
evil or unknown energy flee saying they cannot deal with it. Not all are like that;
most can stand their ground and do clearings and cleansing.
Spiritual Energy Workers: These people come from all belief backgrounds. They can deal with just about anything. Highly sensitive and can deal with energy on an astral level. Besides being clairvoyant, clairaudient, and more, they astral project and can deal with the entity in the veiled world. They can heal, fight, cleanse, clear and offer counseling to others and

Combo: Teams where some or all of the above work together
towards a common goal.
I would like to reader to note that not all of these teams
or groups are professionals. In fact the paranormal is so popular that many are
people new to the field and inexperienced. People learn as they do cases and
their experiences grow. Some are intermediate to professional. In Canada
alone a hand full in each province might have many years behind them when the
rest are new and popping up due to interest.
Scams & Fraud: I will cover in another post. The
summed up idea behind it is that they charge for services. Or will show up just
to steal items on your property or home and or vandalize it.
